All Kitties Should Wear Diamonds & Glitter

Why do little girls love things that sparkle? Well, I guess it's not just little girls...a lot of big girls do too! Personally, I am not really into lots of glitz for myself, but my daughter can't get enough of it. We were fabric shopping months ago and she spotted this crazy hot pink fabric with cats carrying purses, wearing hats and they were all be-decked in glitter and jewels. It was love at first sight and Abby insisted that we buy some. I added it to my pile and Abby was thrilled. For months it's been hidden away in my stash until just the other day Abby spotted it and "reminded me" that I "needed" to make her something out of it "right now". Hmmmm...what to do with crazy cat glitter fabric. Well, I guess the only logical thing was to go with it and come up with a really fun Baby doll dress to pair up with funky tights. I was honestly pleasantly surprised with how sweet it turned out. Of course Abby absolutely loves it!!!!

Cherries Jubilee

This is the funniest story....I was out shopping the other day and saw these adorable cherry rain boots. Here's the funny part...the first thing that came to mind was, "OMG!, I have fabric that matches them perfectly!" how twisted is that? Anyway, they came home with me. I decided to make another Feliz, because it's such a great pattern and I adore the style. I just couln't stop thinking the entire time I was making the dress..."Aren't you supposed to have the outfit first, and then buy the matching shoes?"

Latest Fabric Haul

I went fabric shopping this week. So, much fun. I did very well at JA's! They had a bunch of pretty new prints in and I am itching to play with them. I also hit a wonderful Quilt shoppe in Richmond and found an adorable Japanese print that I had been looking at on line...SCORE!! I couldn't believe they had fabrics from Japan!!! They only had a few but they were just adorable. They also had all of Sandi Henderson's "Farmer's Market" in and Heather Bailey, Amy Butler, Annamaria Horner and tons of others. I was completely overwhelmed. Plus I had all of the kids with me so I couldn't really browse for too long. However, I WILL be going back, and next time I will go alone. Now I need to start sewing up some of these.
