At The Beach...Already!!!

Just as I suspected, a few days of Spring and then we jump right into Summer. Today the high here in VA is supposed to reach about 90. Can you believe that?! Abby and I popped out this morning to go run a few errands and I surprised her with a quick stop at the beach to stick her toes in. According to Abby the water was "kinda warmish~coldish" but the air was certainly on the hot side. Thankfully there was a breeze...actually it was much more than a breeze. It was more like a gale force wind and Abby couldn't stop laughing because the wind was blowing her all over the place. Thankfully, I brought my camera so I was able to capture our first trip to the beach this year on film. Plus, she is wearing "Tess's Jumper" which is going to be coming out any day now. Yeah...new patterns! I've been giving it a lot of thought and I have decided not to release so many at the same time like I did in the Spring because this way I can showcase each design a little more and let you savor each new pattern one, or two, at a time. "Tess" has been a big request from so many of you I just had to put it at the top of my "To Do" list and get it to you in time for Summer sewing. This little drop waist jumper goes together really quick and easy and is perfect with a simple pair of Capri pants. It's also great on it's own or if you like layer it with a little T-shirt or a tank for a different look. Keep an eye out for Tess's Jumper arriving any day now!

"Cooling Off" part Il

Can you believe this is a small cone?

Smile!

"No comment!"...she's such a ham...

and a goofball!!!

After we played at the beach for a little while I decided to surprise Abby and take her to one of our little local Ice Cream emporiums. She was so excited when we pulled in and instantly started deciding what kind of ice cream she was going to have. It was a very difficult decision, but in the end she opted to stick with one of her favorites and she picked "Cookies & Cream" I on the other hand walked on the wild side and got a small cup of "Key Lime Pie" and OMG...It was delish! We talked and giggled and had our special "Girl Time". I can't tell you how much I love these special times I carve out for each of my kiddos. They each have special things that they love to do with mommy and I cherish the special time I have with them alone to create some memories.

"Cooling Off" part I

After our little walk back in time in Colonial Williamsburg we both needed to stick our toes in the cool water so time for a quick change into something a little more beachy and off we went. After cooling off a bit Abby had a blast playing in the sand. This time Abby is wearing another new design idea I have been playing around with...What do you think??? Maybe a new pattern for next Spring...it's a little to late in the season now to start working on this for a pattern. I really need to start putting together some of the things I have been dreaming up for Fall. Anyway, this is a little drop waist dress with cute little straps that button in the back and the dress buttons all the way down the back too. Then of course a sweet little ribbon sash that ties in a bow. I made this set from the new Annette Tatum collection called "Soliel". I just love the soft colors in this collection. You can see more of it here.
