"Janey"

With the release of "Janey" any day now, I wanted to show you just a few examples of some of the samples I have made up. I really love this little dress and you can do so much with it. As with all my designs I try to give you the basics to work with and then depending on the look you want you can change it up any way you want. These are all in the baby-doll length that I give you the measurements for in the pattern but of course if you wanted to make it longer you could just simply by adding length to the skirt. You could also add a sash, pockets or any other fun embellishments that you like. In one of my examples I even used vintage linens to create a little apron on the dress. This pattern is very versatile and you really are only limited by your imagination. Just have fun with it.

"Janey" will be in my shop within the next few days. I am just putting the final touches on the pattern.

Name That Artist!!! Wanna Play???

Okay, you know me. I am always trying to challenge myself to come up with interesting sewing projects. This time I decided to take inspiration from a famous painting. Look familiar???

All made from yummy vintage linen in pale pink and white. The dress is just a simple little girls dress, but I decided to take the extra time and do this a-la Heirloom style and do a ton of the sewing by hand and I am loving how it turned out. The buttons are also vintage. Pale pink with little roses etched in them. Then simple little white bloomers...cute cute cute! Several other little girls at the beach were all admiring her outfit and one little girl said "I want clothes like that, Mommy!" My heart just filled with pride....anyway. Have you figured out where I got inspiration from today? Thanks for looking, and humoring me as always!

Here is the painting that inspired me. It was done by Jessie Wilcox Smith.
