AnnElise

Here are a few photos of Abby modeling "AnnElise", the next pattern to join my collection. As you can see this little dress is as pretty as a picture and easy too! It has a loose fit so it's perfect for hot sunny days when you want something light and cool to put on. It's perfect over a sweet little camisole like Abby is wearing in the photo or it can be worn with a t-shirt as well, depending on the look you prefer. AnnElise just slips on, and according to Miss Abigail it's the "Most Comfortable Dress...EVER!! and she said she would love a whole closet filled with these! If that's not a two thumbs up, I don't know what to say. Abby also pointed out that this would be an adorable bathing suit cover-up because it's so easy to slip on and off. So, she asked if I could make on to match her bathing suit until she reminded herself that her suits from last year don't fit anymore. Note to self * Buy Abby new bathing suits soon! I've also added these super easy to make dimensional butterflies to this dress for a extra special touch. I will be offering a free downloadable tutorial here and on my website with all the instructions on how to make them. AnnElise will become available within the week so keep a close watch for news of her arrival!

Back In The Saddle

This morning I jumped back in the saddle and got down to business again. I have to admit, it took a few minutes to get my mojo back on track but within a short amount of time my machine was humming away. This morning I began working on the "Annelise" pattern. For this dress I used some of this gorgeous fabric from a collection called "Tweet" that is available at Allegro Fabrics. This design is just so pretty and perfect for those super hot days of Summer. It can be worn on it's own or with a little top underneath. I am going to work really hard to get this one to you as quickly as possible. I have had so many requests for this one and I can understand why. 

It feels so good to be sewing and creating again!

Spring Pattern Sneak Peek...

Meet "Annelise". . .  another new pattern coming out this Spring. I was thrilled beyond belief that we are experiencing unbelievable weather here in Virginia. Today the temps soared into the mid 70's so Abby and I took full advantage of this glorious day and went to a visit a local garden. Sadly, we are going to have to wait a little longer for all the flowers to be in full bloom but it was still a pretty back drop for a photo shoot even in February. This little dress is so light and breezy and perfect to wear on those steamy summer days which will be here before you know it and I really love the look of layering it with a pretty little lacy camisole underneath. I really had fun with this dress and added "ruching" on the sides which cinch up with pretty little satin ribbons and tie into little bows and a hint of lace on the under skirt. BTW I am thrilled that Abby and I decided to grow out her bangs. Her new "do" is so sweet and the timing for Spring photos was spot on perfect. Growing out bangs is not fun...but we survived it even though I can't tell you how many times I was temped just to give up and cut them to get them out of her face. So glad I didn't!
