Experimenting With Another New Dress...

...and wondering what you think of this one? Oh, I need name ideas as well. I'm running out of great names but never a shortage of design ideas.

Laurie,

Here is the original dress. As you can see I added another layer but, of course you could just do one skirt instead of two and the ties on the sash are shorter, but of course that's easy to edit as well. On this one I used rick-rack to trim out the apron and this apron has pockets but these are both fun little additions that anyone could add. There are so many sweet ways one could personalize this little dress to make it truly a one of a kind treasure.

How about calling it Baileigh?

You could always go with flower names :) Your clothes are so sweet!
I'd love to make some for my skinny minnie- who is probably a size 4 according to your sizes, but an 8 year old ;)

I really, really love the color combinations you chose for this dress, and I love the floral fabric. My niece, Ella Grace, loves yellows, lavender blues, and pinks, as well -- so, how about "Ella Grace". I love all your designs ... you continue to amaze me with your creations!!!

Wow! Great name Ideas. Thanks so much for all the wonderful suggestions. I really like a lot of them and may just have to use one of these for my latest creation.

Isn't this similar to the red dress you made for Abby to do house work in? She was standing by the vintage refrigerator.

Hmmm... How about Hazel?

Laurie, my gosh you have a great memory. Yes, this new one is very similar to that dress. I made a few small changes but that dress was the inspiration for this one. and I love "Hazel" that's such a great name. Didn't julia Roberts name her daughter Hazel?

Love this dress but then I love all of them! How about Chelsea, or Savannah or even Rose?

Dawn, I'd love to see that picture again when this becomes a pattern. You could use the house work dress as an example of what you could do with this pattern. ;;-)

How would I even begin to look for that picture? It's been 2 years since we crossed paths.

Julia did name her daughter Hazel.

This is another pretty design! I'm not too good on names, but a couple came to mind.

Brinkley or Kensie

Heidi came to my mind as well.

Is the apron a separate piece that buttons on or is it permanently attached at the waist?

Love the red version! Too cute with the rick rack trim.

As for names I also thought maybe Heidi or Liesl. Like this one!

LOL!!! I'm soooo glad that I'm not the only one who remembered that red dress ... I spent quite a bit of time looking through the older posts to find that one! At the time you posted that red dress, I happened to see that fabric in my local shop, and purchased those fabrics, some rick rack, and buttons in anticipation that you would one day publish the pattern (you seemed a bit hesitant in your post about making it into a pattern). Well, I'm glad you've finally decided to include this among your patterns so that I can finally use that fabric -- and have that space to store more... LOL!!! Cyrena
