Blurrrrr

Wow...I feel like I have been in some kind of really crazy time warp lately. Summer is just flying by and I am sitting here wondering where has the time gone. Well, a large percentage of time has gone to helping Terri get these 2 new stores in tip top shape and up and running which by the way I am happy to announce that the new FF&L is finally complete!!!! YEAH!!!!! and it looks awesome. You really need to go over and check it out and see all the really amazing new things that Terri has gotten into the store! And there is tons more coming...we had a little "Too Much Fun" ordering new stuff for the shop and the inventory has grown by leaps and bounds!!!

Anyway, all that work translates into me spending a lot, and I do mean A LOT!!! of time on my butt in front of my computer and not so much with my sewing machine...hence the lack of photos of new stuff lately. But I plan on changing that asap! I have also not had very much time for creating new patterns this summer but it's not for lack of ideas...trust me...I have been testing new ideas here and there and I have hopes of adding new patterns in the near future...I just need to find the time. My goal this week is to finally finish both "Hannah" and "Phoebe" so I can get them published and out into the world! Then to start working on a few new ideas I have up my sleeve.

Then there has been all kinds of interesting stuff going on around the ol' homestead. When we moved into our house 4 years ago I would have never dreamed that such a lovely neighborhood could be such a nightmare. We honestly thought this move would be a good move for our family but sadly quite the opposite is true. The stories I could tell ...Oi! Anyway, we are currently contemplating moving...as if I need anything more on my plate. So, over the past two weeks I have been house hunting, meeting with realtors and going to see houses. Of course this is a huge undertaking and we have a lot to think about before we make that leap but Ole and I both feel that something needs to happen, but with the economy being the way that it is there are a lot of considerations. So we will continue to think, talk and look until we make a decision.

I am craving calm and peacefulness and with everything I have to do all I really want to do is slow down and be still for a while. Lately, I have been fantasizing about moving back to New England which is home for me. Wanting to buy an old farm in Vermont and having a big garden and maybe some chickens and having lots of room for the kids to run and play without troublesome neighbors. Oh, and to have 4 seasons again instead of this miserable steaming hot weather we have in Virgina. Has this summer been nuts or what? Weeks and weeks of temps in the high 90's and higher. The kids haven't even been able to enjoy playing outside because it's been too darn hot to go outside!!! So we have had to come up with a lot of creative stuff to keep everyone entertained.

How has your summer been???

Exciting to see you are thinking of new patterns! Yay girl! Sorry your neighborhood is not what you anticipated. I know in my neighborhood I have a friend that is moving because on her street they have neighbors that never really left the frat house so to speak. She said its become unsuitable for them to raise their kids down there. So sad! And over here where I am at, it's hometown USA! Same neighborhood, go figure! Amazing how a few can ruin it for many. Sorry you are going through that.

Dawn, why don't you head on out to CA! We would have a blast! And nothing is considered unconventional out here. I am sorry things have gotten so bad in your neighborhood. We haven't talked in so long, I feel out of touch. I think all the new things at FF&L and A&E are wonderful. How very exciting!
Let's talk soon!
