Classics Are Always In Style
I've spent quite a bit of time thinking about what every little girl needs in her wardrobe. Shirts and blouses, skirts, jumpers and of course dresses!!! With so many adorable styles out there with ruffles and bows and loads of fun and funky accents, I thought it might be nice to go back to basics. It's been quite a while since I have seen a pattern for just a simple and elegant little girls dress. So, I am designing one for you. Think of it as a blank canvas for you to be creative with. You can add a sash, pockets, an embroidery design or fun applique...or just leave it as a simple beautiful classic dress. We've all heard that sometimes simple is the best and I believe this is one of those cases. With so many gorgeous fabrics available to us nowadays sometimes you just need a classic dress to showcase the fabric. This dress is perfect for that!
So be on the lookout for "Camille" in the shop sometime soon!
BTW, I am still not sure about the little hooded jacket...it's just an idea...but I clearly need to think on it a bit longer. What do you think?
Sorry about the indoor pics on my favorite little dress form, but it's simply just too hot to get Abby dressed up and go outside. I'm afraid we both might melt.

I love the dress and i would love love love to see the hoodie in you fall line-up.
So very pretty and classic!
The fabric is perfect!
Love the dress!!!
The hoodie looks similar to the capelet you had pictured before? (don't remember where, can't find it now) I love the cut on the front. I also like the length on this one better than the length on the capelet.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Very sweet, Dawn. But, I'd do the jacket without the hood for a really classic look. Love the pearls!
...melting on the southside, too!

i love this dress! i would love to make it for my girl!
and the hooded jacket? a definite YES! i would love to make it as well!
I love it. But I disagree . . . I think the hood is what makes the jacket unique.
I LOVE this little dress! It's a perfect classic! (that I am having a hard time finding a good pattern for!) And the jacket is very cute! I personally like the hood... it adds a little "fun" to the "classy". :o)
Thanks so much for all the great comments and ideas. I really love this dress and see endless possibilities with it. I am already having visions of all the great things I plan to do with it. I am currently sketching out the first drafts of the pattern pieces and I'm in the early stages of getting this one together for you.
