Once Upon a Time . . there lived a pirate named Black Boots.
She sailed the seven seas, in search of buried treasure.
"Land Ho!", now to search for that treasure chest!
"X" marks the spot. . .
"Happy Dance"
. . . ah, treasure at last. New "bling" to add to my collection!
Keeping watch to make sure no one wants to steal her treasure. . .
Black Boots with her trusty companion "Blue" a Blue Footed Booby,
who she met in the Galapagos Islands. You see, Black Boots doesn't like parrots very much, they get cracker crumbs in the bed, which makes it very difficult to get a good night's sleep.
Plus, they talk too much!
waiting for her shipmates to come back to pick her up...
Back on board ship and having a blast "walking the plank"!
As you can see, Abby and I clearly had a lot of fun on this photo shoot! We had quite the pirate adventure. I used my new pattern "Heidi's Dirndl" to create this fun pirate costume for Miss Abby and she absolutely loves it! Which is funny, because when I was telling her about the contest and asking her what she wanted me to make after I gave her several options, and a pirate was not high on her list. but I was anxious to give it a try and I told her if she didn't like it, she didn't have to wear it, and that I would make her something different. She was skeptical, but said "Okay, mom let's see what you can come up with!" This coming from my child who has never wanted me to make her Halloween costume before and who has always wanted the yucky store bought versions... go figure. Anyway, I'm getting side tracked again. As the costume came together she started to get really excited and once it was finished and she tried it on she said "This is the best costume ever!!!!!! Mom, I will never wear a store bought costume again. You Rock!!!!"
Yes, I made changes to the skirt and so can you
