Where do I begin? . . . It's been a week of lots of stress and challenges. After 8 weeks of my kitchen being torn apart and lots of issues with our contractors I was left with the very unpleasant task of having to fire them. It's a long and sorted story and I don't want to bore you with all the details but I assure you we gave them too many chances to get their act together and in the end they ran out of chances. So, now I am left with an un done kitchen and several mistakes that need to be fixed. . . ugh! Lets see what else. Yesterday I spent the morning in the ER with Abby after she got bit by our cat which was also a series of unfortunate events. She is fine but her hand is all bandaged up and she is confined to the house for several days because the Dr. doesn't want her in the sun with the meds she is on. Needless to say a cooped up Abby is a very unhappy Abby. The girl loves to be outside!!! There have also been several other little bumps not worth whining about but on a whole add up to a really stressful week. The good news is I have been sewing, and the kids school curriculums have been ordered and we are all really excited for their arrival. It's going to be so nice to not have to think quite as hard any more. Today, I just want to spend the day baking some yummy treats with my kids and spending time in my studio.

So sorry to hear about your crazy week. I just found your site because of a pin of your craft room. It is so beautiful. I have been looking around your blog a little and see you are from VA. We recently moved to Fredericksburg, VA. I homeschool my daughter through high school and love it. We are so close because of it. She will enter her senior year in college this fall with a 3.98 GPA. HaHa to those folks who say homeschoolers can't make it! Love your site and will follow it to see what you are creating!
Hope the rest of your week is much better, but if we didn't have those 'hard' weeks now and then would we appreciate all the 'normal' days??
The grandgirl was thrilled that we bought bananas at the store today because that means Mamaw might make banana bread with her later this week. She's only 3, but loves to cook with me. I hope that we are making some good memories together.

When it rains it pours. What torture to be a child trapped inside during the beautiful summer. Hang in there! I love visiting blog-land because eveyone's life is so storybook perfect and stories like this remind me that we are all normal and life's not perfect but it is really beautiful "most" of the time. ;-). And your sewing room is gorgeous and an inspiration to get mine organized.
