What A Week It's Been!

Sorry no pretty pics to share, I just can't bare to take photos of this mess. I want to thank all of you for all of your kindness and encouragement with our home crisis. Now, for the update. The fans/dehumidifiers finally left yesterday, Thank goodness! They were so incredibly loud now maybe we can start talking in the house again instead of screaming at each other and maybe, just maybe I can get rid of this headache. We are still waiting to hear back from our insurance company and then once that happens the real fun begins. . . NOT! I just want my house back to normal and life to continue as it was, but I know it's going to be quite sometime before that happens. This weekend I am sure I will be packing up my sewing room and relocating everything to various other places in our house. Although, I'm not quite sure where it's all going to fit. Hopefully we can get the contractors in here early next week to start on the rebuilding of the walls and so on. I can't tell you how much I am itching to sew. It's always such great therapy for me and it's gets my mind off things and I relax but sadly that's not going to happen either. Honestly, at this point I just want to pack up everyone and run away. But. . . I know I have to pull myself together and put on my general contractor hat and start getting this all organized. Coordinating workers and picking out all the replacements. Sadly, it looks like they are not going to replace my cabinets only rebuild the ones that were here. I wont even tell you how unhappy I am about that and all the phone calls that have been made. Oi!!! Please someone tell me where the silver lining in all of this is?

Sorry for the rant, but I just had to vent as I'm beyond frustrated!

A happy thing to share - My son is a cancer survivor. It hit us when he was in high school, and I have to say that going through something like that puts life's little tragedies into perspective. But while he was being treated, a young man ran the Boston Marathon to support him. This year was my son's 3rd year to run the marathon in support of another teenage cancer victim. So what does this have to do with Olabelhe? Part of running the race for Dana Farber Cancer Treatment is raising thousands of dollars. I made a Natalie with a matching Madison jacket and entered it in a charity auction to help my son raise his share. Everyone from my son's church bought tickets on the dress to win it for a church family that has 4 little girls. They won! The oldest daughter put the dress on right away and twirled and twirled! Just wanted to let you know that you had a part in a wonderful thing. It raised a heap of money and made little girls happy, too. (And it might get you a few pattern sales, lol)

It is very frustrating when life is out of it's normal routine. My house needs a major work over due to age. I sure hope the roof leak gets fixed properly.

This will pass. Praying for internal peace.

Dawn, I cannot believe this. Just three weeks ago, we were talking about new patterns, fabrics, etc....how trivial that all sounds right about now? Life never goes according to plan, does it? Remember the saying "If it doesn't kill you, it will only make you stronger." You will jump this hurdle like a pro I am sure.
In the meantime, I cannot find your phone number, and because I too have been seeking contractors to get air conditioning into my studio your number is no longer visible on my phone. So please call me 8506266565 before I cry. LOL. Take care of yourself. Take a deep breath, and once you say "Ist mir doch alles egal!" your headache will go away. LOL. ((HUGS))
