"Turtle Socks"

Like mother...like daughter....
The other day Abby and I were in my sewing room and I was working on my latest design. She was asking me all kinds of questions like "Mommy...how do you make a pattern?", so I explained to her all the steps involved in making a pattern. Her response..."Can I make a pattern too?" of course I was thrilled. She went and got her beloved stuffed turtle, "Shell~bie" and she decided that socks would be something turtle might need. You should have been there for this conversation...it was priceless. Abby told me all about how terrible it is for turtles to have to walk through the mud around the pond and their feet get all wet and cold and it's why they get sick so often. From what Abby tells me, "Shell~bie" and all her turtle friends would love to have socks to wear to keep their feet warm and dry. So, Abby set out to single handedly solve this horrible crisis in the turtle world. She went digging in her scrap basket and found fabrics that "Shell~bie" liked and started measuring and cutting then she started stitching them up. It took several prototypes before she got it just right. This morning she decided that she needed to make a pattern cover and with a little help from me, this is what she came up with.... So if you happen to know any turtles who are in desperate need of some socks tell them have no fear a pattern is on the way!!!
