Today I came home with a huge load of apples from our CSA and now I am sitting here thinking..."what the heck am I going to do with all of these?" I've been getting tons of recipes on line and deciding what I should make first. I think tomorrow morning I am going to make up some homemade applesauce. The kids love it and they would be thrilled to help I am sure. Then I think we may have an apple crisp for dessert tomorrow night after our yummy dinner of roasted chicken. Beyond that I am not quite sure. We are not big into pies around here so I don't see that getting eaten. Oooo...I know, maybe some fresh apple butter. That would be amazing on homemade bread and a yummy breakfast for the kids before they head off to school this week. Off to research apple butter recipes. If you know of a good one, please let me know.

My most indulgent thing to do with apples is "caramelize" some w/ brown sugar and butter and serve over oatmeal. Apple cheddar bread pudding is another fave. I can't wait til it's closer to apple picking time here!
