I wanted to update you all on the events of this afternoon! We went to the Meet & Greet at the school and we met Mrs. "I" and she was wonderful! The instant we met she was right down on Abby's level and talking with her and I did...I saw a twinkle in her eye! It's going to be okay and I feel so much better. Abby skipped into her classroom and was tickled to see her name both on a coat hook and a cubby and the look on her face was priceless. She's going to LOVE it!
What I didn't know before was this classroom is extra special. This is the room where all of the children who have slight disabilities will be. Abby was specially chosen to be in this classroom because she is so incredibly outgoing and loving and they know that she would be a perfect choice for helping and encouraging her classmates. I was honored! My heart filled with pride and I was so touched that the teachers that interviewed her during the summer picked up on her incredibly gregarious personality and chose the perfect teacher and classroom for her.
Abby insisted that she wear one of her favorite dresses to meet her teacher. Prior to the M&G she took a bubble bath, shampooed her hair and then insisted on doing a mini-Spa with lotion, lip stick(which is actually chapstick, but she thinks it's lipstick) and her sparkle spray. Then she wanted mousse in her hair and she wanted me to blow it out so it would look "Just perfect, mama!" Of course, I had to snap a few pictures of my big girl who's heading off to kindy in just a few more days.
