Like Mother....Like Daughter

This afternoon I was busy working on my embroidery project curled up on the sofa and relaxing. Abby came over and snuggled up next to me and we were having some very special mother-daughter time, and I was loving every minute of it. I noticed that she was carefully watching every motion I made and studying my technique. I asked her if she wanted to try and she jumped at the opportunity. I asked her to get a piece of paper and draw a picture and then I transferred the design to a piece of white linen fabric. I showed her how to hoop the fabric and then she picked out all the colors she wanted to use. She went back to the very spot we were sitting together earlier and set to work on her design. I cannot tell you how impressed I was with her stitches and her patience. She sat there for almost 30 minutes or so working on her design. At one point she looked up and said "Mommy, this is so much fun. I love it! Now I'm just like you because I can sew!" She was bursting with pride and so was I. Looks like it in the genes!

I promise, once our little project is done, I will post picture so you can all see Abby's first hand sewing creation.

So precious!
I know exactly how you feel - my youngest is the only one of my 3 girls that has shown any interest in sewing and I jump at every chance that presents itself, to share with her.

That is so awesome!!!! I can only imagine how that made you melt inside. I am hoping at least one of the twins will enjoy crafting with me, so far it's looking good.

Anyways what an awesome gift right before Mothers Day!
