Yesterday morning my little explorers discovered Ladybugs in our yard and they asked if they could keep them for a while and watch them. I found a mason jar and they made a cozy little home for their new friends. I cannot tell you what a huge source of fascination these two little bugs have brought to our home. They have watched and examined them with great enthusiasm. Of course I jumped at the opportunity for a teaching moment. Today is going to be a "Ladybug Kinda day" in honor of our little visitors.
Ladybug! Ladybug!
Fly away home.
Your house is on fire.
And your children all gone.
All except one,
And that's little Ann,
For she crept under
The frying pan.
