Just Checking In From The Sweatshop!!

Just wanted to give you all a quick update. I have been very busy preparing my samples for the International Quilt Market. I have several pieces done and a few more to go and I am having a great time getting them ready. However, must say that I can now completely relate to those designers on Project Runway who are in the finals and in the last hours before they show their collections they are frantically putting the finishing touches on all their garments. Making sure all seams are straight, threads snipped, and all wrinkles steamed out. Knowing that hundreds of people may be looking at my clothes is a little nerve racking and I am putting that extra 10% in above my usual 100% to make sure they are perfect.

I have to say I haven't had very much sleep the past few nights and my sewing room is looking a little bit like a war zone. It's okay, in a few days they will all be shipped off and I can go onto the pattern drafting and getting them printed up. I already have lots of my friends over at SewingMama's asking to be testers. I am sure I will have no problems finding lots of mamas who would love to test them for me. They have been so supportive of my new venture and super excited for me too. I still have a lot of work to do but it will all be worth it in the end I'm sure.

BTW ~ I thought I would share this video clip with you as it very much reminds me of myself the past few days.

When it comes up I'd love to test for you too. Hope all is going well. Can't imagine the pressure you're under right now. What I've seen is beautiful though so I'm sure all will go well.

Dawn, the dresses are so gorgeous and I am so very excited for you! I have been keeping my machine humming quite a bit the last week too and am ready to take a break now until tomorrow.

But I can't wait to see what you do next! I know it will be fabulous!

Do you know what movie the clip is from? I would love to see the whole thing.

Sivje... It's from a 1940's musical called "The Perils Of Pauline" and the actress singing the song is Betty Hutton. Isn't it a great song!?
I was singing it all day yesterday as I was sewing.
