Finally. . . my home improvement projects are winding down and our house is in great shape. I got most of my Spring cleaning done way ahead of schedule that way I can really focus on getting back to what I love....creating! My head has just been swimming with ideas and I can't wait to get started. This morning I pulled a big stack of fabrics out and began mixing and matching and playing with different combinations of prints and solids. Abby has grown so much these past few months she is busting out of everything. I am now experiencing a lot of the issues that so many of you face with kids that are "big" for their age. There is no doubt that Miss Abigail is going to be a tall one. At 8 she is needing 12's and 14's just for the length! Plus she is already wearing women's size 5 shoes. Must be all that good German and Scandinavian blood flowing through her veins because it's pretty obvious that she's going to be an Amazon. So mama needs to get busy making her a whole new Spring/Summer wardrobe. With her 9th Birthday just a little more than a month away her tastes are beginning to change. I am seeing that she is more interested in "Big Girl" styles. So, now it's up to me take some of the more popular styles and turn them into something appropriate for a young lady. I know so many of you are dealing with the same issues so this year I am going to try to focus on creating things for the "tweens".
Keeping with my style but adding a little tiny touch of sass that they seem to love so much. But not to worry, I promise to stay true to my commitment to keep these girls of ours modest and still fashionable. I can't wait to start playing with these beauties....

I can't wait to see what you come up with! I have a 12 y/o who likes trendy but is naturally very modest. She doesn't like her necklines too wide or to have too much of anything showing thank goodness!
Sounds like fun :) My 9-in-two-weeks girl is petite- skinny and about average in height- so NOT like me LOL
She is not into the super girly look either, but she does like being made clothes.
I figure if you channel the more classic looks, it might just work ;)

Dawn I feel so lucky that Abby is just a couple of years older than my grandaughters I know you will create wonderful things as Abby grows and cant wait to buy the newest, latest, greatest of your patterns!!!
Yeah!!! I have an 11 year old girl... dressing these tween years is such a challange as their bodies and tastes start changing. My dd is wearing a size 14-16, so I hope your sizes will go up a little higher too.
Bought pattern for Charlottes Dress. Took it to local experts.. They said toask you what fabric you used for crinoline
Well it is about time.......there is only so much cleaning a woman can do.....LOL. Cannot wait to see what you come up with. Many of my customers are looking for larger sizes, so this will be very interesting for me too.
Sounds promising.... I also have a just turned 8yo. She's very small for her age though and has just moved up out of the little kids section in the shops and lets just say it's been a learning curve in the big girl section! I'm looking forward to see what you have coming for spring.
