A Perfect Afternoon

For Mother's Day I wanted to spend some special time with Abby..you know, it's a Mother-Daughter kinda thing. I had been experimenting with a new dress style for her and because it's such a perfect day I asked her if she wanted to go for a walk with me in "The Secret Garden". This is what Abby calls this special little garden that I discovered in Colonial Williamsburg. It truly is a magical spot tucked away from all the chaos of tourists. She jumped at the chance so we got ready to go and I grabbed my camera and off we went. I love our girl chats and special time together, and I am certain she does too. We chatted about everything from lollipops to horse poop ( you have to watch out for it at CW, as there are horses out and about) She was quite the diva in front of the camera, but I will spare you those photos and rather show you some of the better shots I managed to get. On the walk to the candy shop she was once again a huge hit and everyone was "ooohing" and "ahhhing" over her and she loved every minute of it. Afterward she asked me if she was famous. I just smiled and told her that everyone thought she looked very pretty in her pink dress and she made everyone smile. That seemed to satisfy her. At the candy store she picked out 6 lollipops, one for each of us. That's what I call a perfect afternoon!

LOVE the side gathers (don't know what the real name for it is) on this dress!

Happy Mother's Day!

Oh Dawn, this does sound like a perfect afternoon. I LOVE Colonial Williamsburg but have not been since 2001. But I still dream of it. Maybe someday when I make the trip again, we can have a tea party!

And her dress is just wonderful!

Where have I been?!?! I am still a bit old-fashioned and check blogs as I can (rather than have one of those updatey thingeys), and I thought I had FAITHFULLY been checking back to see if you had made anything recently.... only to discover I have missed a few posts! :) I love this outfit, Dawn! And, you have no idea how much I wish SweetPea and I could have joined you on your venture for lollipops.
