St. Lucia Celebration

It's been a flurry of activity at our house over the past week or so with 4 very excited kids preparing for Santa's arrival. We are counting down the minutes until his arrival and finishing up last minute "elfing".
I wanted to share a few photos with you from our recent St. Lucia Celebration. We hosted a party for our little homeschool group and the kids had so much fun. The kids wore traditional St. Lucia attire with our little friend "N" dressed as Lucia, "A" as one of her attendants and  "H" as a star boy. Afterwards, we had a delicious lunch with Swedish meatballs and noodles, a yummy Swedish cucumber salad and red cabbage and of course the kids and I made the "Lussekatter" or saffron buns. Plus we had loads of other sweet treats, both traditional and a few others that decided to join as well. We sang songs, read a story the of Lucia and did Swedish crafts and at the end of the day we were all in a serious food coma and very cozy by the fire. The kids so enjoy learning about other cultures and this one is near and dear to my heart because of my Swedish heritage.
