Okay, here is a great story! I received the sweetest email from my friend Jeannine from Kinder Kouture on Monday night. If you have never been to her website, you must go! She is such an amazing seamstress and has a wonderful business selling her beautifully crafted custom creations. She explained to me that she was frustrated because she couldn't find a pattern to re-create her daughters Easter dress from last year. She had tried to do it on her own, but after a few tries she decided to call in a "professional" (giggle). Here is the photo she sent me... Isn't the dress just darling! I can see why she loves it. Well, I am always up for a challenge and I told her to give me a little time to see what I could come up with. But I told her not to be too surprised if she had photos waiting for her in her mailbox the next morning. Let's just say . . I know me, and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep with all these ideas flying around in my head.
Here is the photo she sent me . . .
Here's what I came up with . . .
When I showed Jeannine the photos yesterday morning she was thrilled! I have to admit, I was pretty proud of this little cutie as well! Now, keep in mind this is just the rough draft and I need to make several more to perfect it, but if all goes well I hope to add this dress to my Summer Collection. Abby and I have decided to name this one "Olivia", in honor of Jeannine's adorable daughter. What do you think????

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! My heart skipped a beat when I saw this dress! I LOVE this style of sleeve. And how funny (or appropriate?) that you are going to name the pattern "Olivia" - it is one of the names we are considering for this little baby in my belly, now just to hope it is a girl so I can make all of your adorable patterns for her!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for designing such cute and feminine clothing for girls because all there is in ready made are clothes that shouldn't even be worn by teenagers.
I like your version better than the original! I hope this comes in my daughter's size (8), and that I can make this darling dress for her!

ReplyDeleteIt's me again..feeling just a little bit like a 'stalker' - but a nice one! Just had to stop back by before I head to bed to say I checked out Kinder Kouture's site and loved her clothes! Great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI just finished a my version of your Daisy idea for the grandgirl, now I need to buy the Madison's Jacket pattern to finish it.
But I've fallen head over heels for the Olivia dress. It's such a beautiful classic girly look.
